“Beirut City Center” aka “The Dome / The Egg / The Sabouneh (Soap)” which previously housed a shopping center and a theater inside its dome, designed in Beirut, by Lebanese architect Joseph Phillip Karam in 1965 – The Egg is to be demolished soon by the developer Abu Dhabi Investment House (Beirut Gate Project) who bought the land from Solidere; the developer company who destroyed more than 80% of central Beirut’s old building heritage during the 1990s and up till now.
